Funny Marco reciprocates La La Anthony's overtures 6 months after Carmelo Anthony's ex-wife sought public permission
Around six months after La La Anthony jokingly asked her followers on social media if she should start dating Funny Marco, the comedian responded to one of her posts. Carmelo Anthony's ex-wife stirred the pot about possibly giving Marco a shot after an interview back in February.
La La recently shared a photo dump of her summer with his son Kiyan and other family members during their trip to Japan. One of the people who commented was Marco, who put in a heart emoji, rekindling possible interest in the actress and television personality.
Here's Funny Marco's comment:
The social media flirting between La La Anthony and Funny Marco began after her appearance on his "Open Thoughts" podcast on YouTube. Marco initially shot his shot at the 42-year-old actress and was turned down quickly.
Here's the funny exchange:
"Tell me who is single and available and you would say is like a great guy?" La La asked.
"Marco!" he replied.
"Anybody else? I mean, you can't be the guy for everybody," La La said.
Marco didn't stop flirting after the exchange and even shared a screenshot of his direct message to La La. He quickly deleted his post since Carmelo's ex-wife left him on read although she followed it up by asking her followers if she should start dating the comedian.
At least 77.0% of her fans voted yes but a date hasn't officially happened. She has not been public about her relationships since her marriage with the former New York Knicks star ended.
La La Anthony gives advice on dating
La La Anthony got engaged to Carmelo Anthony during his rookie season with the Denver Nuggets. They got married in 2010 and were separated during the 2016-17 NBA season. They reconciled after a year before finalizing their divorce in June 2021, sharing one son, Kiyan, together.
While La La has not been open about her dating life, she recently gave some advice about it in an appearance on the "Change The Game" podcast with Charlamagne tha God. She shared something that her mother told her about dating "cute guys."
"My sister Brittany over there, her friend likes medium ugly guys. You know, my mom always said, 'Cute guys come with ugly problems,' and I always remember that. You keep going after the cute guys, they come with the ugly problems," La La said.
La La has been spending time with his son Kiyan for the past few months, and the two went on a trip to Japan. Kiyan is an incoming senior in high school and is expected to get offers from several collegiate programs.
