"Get the f**k out of my chat" - Dennis Schroder hilariously claps back at YouTuber Ray over fake Pistons trade joke
Youtuber Ray, AKA "Rayasianboy," attempted to troll Brooklyn Nets point guard Dennis Schroder by making him think he was traded to the lowly Detroit Pistons. However, the veteran seemingly wanted no part in the shenanigans, providing a comical response.
Fresh off a strong run with Germany at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Schroder's stock appears to be rising. He led the Germans to a fourth-place Olympic finish, earning All-Star Five honors alongside superstars LeBron James, Steph Curry, Nikola Jokic and rising star Victor Wembanyama. Thus, he projects to be an intriguing trade target for aspiring NBA contenders.
However, on Monday, a clip went viral of Ray telling his followers to spam Schroder's livestream with fake news that he was traded to Detroit. The Pistons are coming off a league-worst 14-68 finish, breaking the NBA's record for most consecutive losses (28).
Schroder didn't buy the news, though, instead humorously clapping back at the YouTuber.
"Ray, get the f**k out of my chat," Schroder said.
Through 11 seasons, Dennis Schroder has already played for seven different NBA franchises, getting traded on four occasions. That includes getting shipped from the Toronto Raptors to Brooklyn at this year's trade deadline.
So, Schroder is considered a journeyman at this stage of his career and likely used to being on the move. Nevertheless, the 2023 FIBA World Cup MVP seemingly has no interest in joining Detroit's rebuild.

Dennis Schroder could offer value to contenders
While Dennis Schroder isn't joining the Pistons, he may not be much better off on the Nets. After trading star wing Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks earlier this offseason, Brooklyn is also expected to be an Eastern Conference bottom-feeder.
The franchise has reportedly made all its veteran role players available via trade. So, Schroder could be of interest to contenders looking for additional bench scoring and playmaking.
Over six games with Germany this summer, Schroder averaged 17.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 45.8% and 39.1% from 3.
That production level may not translate to the NBA, where Schroder typically plays a smaller role than with his national team. However, he is on an expiring $13 million contract, making him a relatively affordable trade target.
Across 80 games with Brooklyn and Toronto, Schroder averaged 14.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 6.1 apg and 0.8 spg, shooting 43.5% and 37.5% from deep.
