"Get on somebody's a** about that" - Kevin Durant reacts with displeasure to his 94 overall NBA 2K25 ratingĀ
Phoenix Suns superstar forward Kevin Durant recently found out his NBA 2K25 rating, reacting in apparent frustration to his placement among the NBA's premier players.
Since being drafted in 2007, Durant has spent much of his illustrious career viewed as a top-five-caliber player. However, following his team's recent playoff struggles, the two-time NBA champion's reputation appears to have taken a hit.
Despite Phoenix's star-studded roster being favored to upset the Minnesota Timberwolves in Round 1 of this year's postseason, it was swept 4-0. A few months after the letdown, NBA 2K dropped Durant's rating from 96 to 94, ranking him ninth in the NBA.
On Thursday, Durant, a frequent gamer, shared a video on X/Twitter of himself appearing to be in disbelief over his ninth-best rating.
"I'm a 94? That's crazy," Durant said. "I'm sick of that s**t."
After successfully guessing most of the eight superstars ranked ahead of him, the one-time MVP reiterated his discontentment with his ranking.
"That's crazy, though. I'm a 94, though?" Durant said. "Like, for real, though, that's crazy. I'mma have to get on somebody's a** about that."
It's unclear what Durant needs to do this upcoming season to increase his rating back to 96-plus. Despite the Suns underperforming, the superstar forward is coming off his 14th All-Star selection and 11th All-NBA nod, finishing top five in scoring.
Over 75 games last season, Durant averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.2 blocks and 2.2 3-pointers per game, shooting 52.3% and 41.3% from deep.

Kevin Durant remains NBA 2K25's highest-rated Suns player
Kevin Durant may be displeased with his NBA 2K25 rating. Nevertheless, he remains Phoenix's top-ranked player, edging out his co-star Devin Booker.
While Durant's rating is 94, Booker is trailing closely behind at 93, ranking 12th in the league.
Booker turns 28 next month and is seemingly in the early stages of his prime. Meanwhile, Durant turns 36 later this month and could be approaching the end of his prime. Thus, NBA 2K appears to be signaling that Booker is on the verge of overtaking his co-star.
However, regardless of who is considered the Suns' alpha, Durant and Booker will likely be content seeing their squad bounce back and achieve redemption. This upcoming season, Phoenix will attempt to advance past the playoffs' second round for the first time since acquiring Durant midway through the 2022-23 campaign.
