Giannis Antetokounmpo on potentially pursuing a wrestling career: “S**t if I make as much money as The Rock for sure I’ll join”

Giannis Antetokounmpo flirted with the idea of pursuing a wrestling career when asked if he would perform for companies like WWE or AEW. The "Greek Freak" has been a hardcore wrestling fan and has appeared as a guest on both shows.

He didn't step into the ring, but his latest comments suggest a slight possibility he will do that full-time if he gets paid like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Here's what Antetokounmpo said regarding this during a press conference (via Landon Buford):

"Possibly... Be like what, like "The Rock?" S**t if I make as much money as "The Rock" makes, for sure. Man, I don't know. I don't want to be a wrestler. That's not my thing, but you never know.
"I've seen a lot of great athletes: Shaq, Mike Tyson, LaMelo was there, Lonzo, LaVar Ball was there a couple of years ago. So you've seen a lot of people that've been a part of it."

Giannis Antetokounmpo could be a beast inside the ring if he decides to pursue professional wrestling. He has the build and passion for the wrestling entertainment business. Antetokounmpo displayed his love for the same a couple of years ago when he used to pretend to wrestle his teammates and the opposing team's mascots as part of a pre-game routine.

He would always win that bout via pinfall and hilariously walk around with a championship belt on his shoulders.

Revisited: Giannis Antetokounmpo hilariously says he would kill "The Rock" in a wrestling bout

Giannis Antetokounmpo's affinity towards wrestling peaked in 2019 when he pretended to wrestle with his Milwaukee Bucks teammates as a pre-game ritual. He once challenged former WWE Champion, "The Rock," to work out with him to see who could lift more.

After Antetokounmpo's challenge went viral, reporters asked him about his thoughts on potentially facing the wrestler-turned-actor inside the ring, to which he had a hilarious response. Here's what Giannis said:

"I'll kill him. No, I'm joking because I don't want him coming here and then being mad or try to kill me first, so I'm just joking."

The Rock didn't take too long to respond. He laughed off Antetokounmpo's comments and complimented him for his impressive performances with the Milwaukee Bucks during that season. Here's what Johnson said:

"'I’d kill him.' Love this dude. It’s why he’s an @NBA beast & the Bucks are #1 in the E. But you don’t want this smoke, cuz I will slap your lips off into next week, son. And by that I mean, let’s just get a workout in and enjoy some tequila after."

Giannis Antetokounmpo hasn't decided on pursuing a full-time wrestling career. However, it would be exciting to see him make an in-ring guest appearance, at the very least.
