Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks took on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night. The Bucks came from a heartbreaking 111-109 loss against the Orlando Magic on Saturday. Antetokounmpo had a solid performance, putting up a double-double with 37 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and one steal.
Heading into Sunday, the Bucks aimed to redeem themselves against the best team in the Eastern Conference. Antetokounmpo had a hot start to the half, clearly still having momentum from his previous performance. The Greek Freak added 18 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Unfortunately, Giannis Antetokounmpo's efforts weren't enough to get the Milwaukee Bucks the first half lead. The Cleveland Cavaliers remained superior after the second quarter with a 62-52 lead.
Come the third quarter, Giannis Antetokounmpo continued to lead the Milwaukee Bucks. He added eight more points to his total score as he attempted to take the lead. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn’t give in and maintained their lead from the first half.
Ultimately, the Cavaliers came up with a 112-100 victory over the Bucks. The efforts of Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard just weren’t enough to stop the top team in the Eastern Conference.
Bucks vs Cavaliers recap: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 30-point game fails to lead Milwaukee to victory
The Milwaukee Bucks hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night. It was another heartbreaking loss for the Bucks as the Cavs came up with a 112-100 victory. It was a team effort by Cleveland. All five of their starters were in double digits. Interestingly enough, none of the Cavs players hit the 20-point mark, which makes the Bucks’ loss all the more disappointing.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard did all they could to try and fend off the Cavaliers. Giannis nearly provided another double-double performance, putting up 30 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Lillard, on the other hand, had a solid all-around performance with 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Unfortunately for Milwaukee, it was only the All-Star duo who took charge of the game. The only other Bucks player in double digits was Kyle Kuzma, who added 14 points and six rebounds.
