"Give it to his daddy Jayson Tatum!" - Fans rip Giannis Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee Bucks for blowout home loss to Boston Celtics

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics just overwhelmed Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks 140-99 in a battle of Eastern Conference heavyweights. Boston was so dominant they led the game by 49 points at one point while Tatum played only three quarters.

Fans who expected a slam-bang couldn't hold back their disappointment and ripped the Bucks:

"I have seen enough, Giannis doesn’t deserve MVP. Give it too his daddy Jayson Tatum!"

@BleacherReport I have seen enough, Giannis doesn’t deserve MVP. Give it too his daddy Jayson Tatum!
@BleacherReport Antetoukumpo brothers need to be banned from the league
@SportsCenter Giannis against teams who have guys over 6’9 on the roster https://t.co/8MqKiZIfz2
@SportsCenter Next on sports center: despite this loss Giannis deserves MVP over embiid.
@SportsCenter Run and dunk isn't enough to beat good teams
@CelticsRiley They swore Middleton was the answer LMAOOOOO
Is this that Bucks team that would’ve “beat the Celtics in 5” if Middleton was healthy? https://t.co/Gfgzww0GuM

Giannis Antetokounmpo put up 24 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 25 minutes. He had a game-worst -32 net rating.

More than Antetokounmpo's sub-par performance, the Milwaukee Bucks just had no answer for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The duo combined for 42 points in the first half, while the entire Bucks team could only muster 47.

The Celtics were sizzling from behind the arc, led by Tatum's 8-10 clip from deep. They combined to make 22-0f-43 3-pointers, which put the Bucks consistently on their heels throughout the game.

Boston weren't just content with long-range shots despite their blistering form. They relentlessly attacked the rim, scoring a staggering 54 inside-the-paint points. The Bucks' labored to reach 36 points, despite their twin-tower combo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez.

Jaylen Brown started the tone for the Celtics, dropping 17 first-quarter points. Jayson Tatum took over in the second and third quarters. "JT" had 18 of his 40 in the third period.

The Boston Celtics' All-Star duo combined to hit 70 points in the old-fashioned beatdown of the Bucks, their second-largest loss at home in Milwaukee's history.

Jrue Holiday, who dropped a career-high 51 points in the Bucks' 149-136 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, had just six points tonight. Holiday took only eight shots and made two of them.

The Milwaukee Bucks, who were playing their second game of a back-to-back set and fifth in eight games, were lethargic. Boston's aggressiveness on both ends of the floor to start the game had the Bucks in trouble early.

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics could still grab the top seed in the East over Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo's Bucks' still hold a two-game advantage over the Boston Celtics for the best record in the East.
Giannis Antetokounmpo's Bucks' still hold a two-game advantage over the Boston Celtics for the best record in the East.

The Milwaukee Bucks (55-22) are just two games ahead of the Boston Celtics (53-24) for the best record in the East. Boston can still wrest the top seed if they go 5-0 the rest of the way and Milwaukee goes 2-3.

The Celtics' loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday made it nearly impossible for them to overtake the Bucks. Their win opens the door slightly wider to re-take the best record in the NBA.

If both teams end up with the same win-loss slate, Boston gets pole position in the East due to their 2-1 edge in head-to-head match-ups.

Statement. Made. https://t.co/MUmSY1ovGK

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Celtics in Game 7 at TD Garden last year. They will want to keep their home-court advantage should both teams meet again in the postseason.

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics still have plenty of work to do, though. They will face the Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors twice and Atlanta Hawks to close out the season.

A loss to any one of these teams could put their chase of the top seed to an end.
