"Go try one of those spineless jellyfish" - Stephon Marbury sends stern warning to troll NBA account for spreading falsehoods
Former NBA player Stephon Marbury went off on a troll account for spreading false information and narratives about him. Marbury wasn't happy with NBA Centel on X, formerly known as Twitter, for using his name to create a narrative. He recently went viral for a fake quote manufactured by the satire page.
In a post on X, Marbury called out the owners of the NBA Centel page for posting a fake quote of him saying something bad about LeBron James. The former New York Knicks star explained that he had blocked the account previously and fans should not support it using false statements to make money.
"Is there a way to show how long a platform was blocked? This is what happens when you can make money by utilizing social media. You get people talking because they have no one to discuss anything real in the world of basketball.
"They try to gain more followers by using other people's thoughts and content. I'm not the one, so if you thought it was easy, you better go try one of those spineless jellyfish types who bounces a ball and talk. Next time, it's on! Keep my name off your page," Marbury tweeted.
NBA Centel is a troll page on X although it has described itself as satire. Some people will recognize it after reading the quote, but it can also accidentally spread some false information. Certain publications have used them as a legitimate source by mistake or by improper research, which makes them even more popular.
Stephon Marbury was not pleased with the latest tweet by the page featuring LeBron James. Marbury was quoted saying James' only relevant award is the Rookie of the Year award and it was nothing special for someone in the NBA as long as him.
The page tagged another satire page, Chris B. Hayne, a parody of NBA insider Chris Haynes. While it was pretty obvious that someone like Marbury wouldn't dismiss James' accomplishments like that, some people would believe he said it.
Stephon Marbury doesn't have LeBron James ahead of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant
Stephon Marbury was asked to pick his GOAT on Mark Jackson's Come And Talk 2 Me podcast on Nov. 26. Marbury answered Michael Jordan and then explained that Kobe Bryant was next and LeBron James was behind the legendary duo.
"When I look at Kobe, I'm like 'How is LeBron better than Jordan when he is not better than Kobe?'," Marbury said, according to Fadeaway World.
"I'm just trying to figure that out. They get mad at me, and say I don't like LeBron because he said something about my shoes. This is basketball. I go by your brain when watching basketball."
Marbury went viral during the Olympics when James ignored him on the sidelines in Paris after celebrating with Carmelo Anthony.
