Golden State Warriors Rumors: NBA insider suggests trading James Wiseman and Moses Moody for Charlotte Hornets trio

NBA insider Bobby Marks believes the Golden State Warriors duo of James Wiseman and Moses Moody should be traded for the Charlotte Hornets' P.J. Washington, Jalen McDaniels, and Mason Plumlee.

Marks' comments come in the wake of Golden State owner Joe Lacob stating that young players on the Warriors roster may not have the same developmental opportunities as those on other teams due to the fact that the team is competing for the title.

On The TK Show, Lacob said:

"He's (Wiseman) an immense talent, he's an incredibly hard worker, he really cares. These things matter. He had a lot of really bad breaks as we all know, it's been well chronicled. He's also in an organization and on a team which is trying to win championships.
"It's different than playing somewhere they're just throwing everybody out there, young guys are putting up numbers, getting a lot of experience. It's hard for our young guys to do that here."

Here are some of Wiseman's highlights above from his career-high 30-point performance against the Brooklyn Nets at the end of last year.

The Warriors have not been as dominant as they would have hoped for this season. After the team captured the NBA championship last year, they would have set their sights on repeating the feat. Unfortunately for the storied franchise, the championship train dealt has had to deal with plenty of problems before leaving its metaphorical station.

First, there was an altercation between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole at practice that saw the four-time champion punch his teammate in the face. However, the two men eventually buried the hatchet.

The Warriors started the season poorly, struggling to notch up wins. Add to that the injuries that have continued to plague the team, and it's no wonder the Golden State Warriors are now linked to new players.

Despite Steph Curry playing through an injury to his non-shooting shoulder, the team went 3-4 in January. With the sixth-best record in a stacked Western Conference, all bets are off.

As for James Wiseman, after missing the entire 2021-22 season with a knee injury, he's looked like a shell of his former self. With the exception of his 30-point outing last month, Wiseman hasn't been able to consistently produce. He rolled his ankle late last year during practice and is yet to return.

At the same time, Moses Moody has remained a solid contributor in his role, meaning the Golden State Warriors could have a valuable trade asset on their hands.
