Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans player stats and box score (Nov. 22) | 2024-24 NBA season

The Golden State Warriors survived a gritty performance from the decimated New Orleans Pelicans to win 112-108 on Friday. Steph Curry couldn't get going in the fourth quarter, but Andrew Wiggins, Buddy Hield and Draymond Green stepped up. The Dubs nearly lost to a Pelicans team that didn't have Zion Williamson, Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum and Herb Jones.

Trey Murphy III carried the offensive load for the Pelicans with 24 points. Murphy's 3-pointer with 14.0 seconds remaining cut Golden State's lead to 110-108 before Green sealed the game with two free throws. Brandon Ingram contributed 18 points, seven assists, three rebounds and two blocks.

Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans: Game Summary

The Pelicans raced to an 8-2 lead in the first two minutes before the Dubs responded. Andrew Wiggins couldn't miss in the first quarter and finished with 13 points. Steph Curry added five points as the visitors took a 34-30 lead after the first period.

Trey Murphy III had 10 points to lead the New Orleans Pelicans. Javonte Green and Brandon Ingram combined for 13 points to help their team stay within striking distance of the Warriors.

The Pelicans had another quick start to open the second quarter. They grabbed a 40-38 lead following Green's bank shot. Murphy, Green and Ingram continue to carry the scoring load for coach Willie Green's team. Brandon Boston Jr. and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl combined for 20 points off the bench.

Steph Curry and Green combined for 13 points in the second quarter to help Wiggins. Brandin Podziemski came off the bench to contribute nine points, two rebounds and two assists. The Warriors, however, trailed 63-62 at halftime.

The shorthanded New Orleans Pelicans continued to go toe-to-toe with the Golden State Warriors in the third quarter. Brandon Ingram and Trey Murphy III put on a gritty performance despite Golden State’s consistent double teams. Willie Green’s second-stringers punched their weight as well. The Pelicans only trailed 87-84 heading into the fourth quarter.

The final frame was a defensive slugfest. New Orleans never grabbed the lead but kept the game close with timely shots from Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Ingram and Murphy. JRE, who has hardly played this season, had seven points in the fourth quarter.

Steph Curry had two points and two turnovers in the period, which allowed the Pelicans to stay alive. Buddy Hield and Andrew Wiggins carried the Dubs’ scoring load as Curry struggled.

Trey Murphy’s 27-footer cut the Warriors’ lead to 110-108 with 14.0 seconds remaining. Draymond Green committed a turnover one possession later to give the ball back to the Pelicans. Willie Green went to Murphy again but the sharpshooter missed a 30-footer. Draymond Green made two free throws off a foul from Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to allow the Warriors to escape with a 112-108 victory.
