"Greatest basketball moments"- Dwyane Wade remains perplexed at Kevin Durant's clinical effort vs Serbia
Kevin Durant and the USA Men's National Basketball Team had a great start to their 2024 Olympics Campaign against Serbia on Sunday. The Phoenix Suns star delivered an elite performance on the hardwood so much so that former Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade was left perplexed.
Wade gave a shout-out to the 14-time NBA All-Star on his official X handle, praising the two-time NBA champion for the herculean showing against Serbia.
"I’m sitting here thinking about what KD just did tonite. I just watch one of the greatest basketball moments in my life time. Living Legend!"
Coming off the bench, Kevin Durant demolished his opposition and greatly impacted the game with his famed and hailed unearthly shooting prowess. He lived up to his image of one of the greatest scorers in the history of the best basketball league in the world, scoring 23 points in just 17 minutes.
He almost sunk in every shot and had near-perfect accuracy in the game startling the viewers with his excellence. Durant went 8 on 9 from the field, 5 on 5 from the three-point line, and 2 on 2 from the charity line. He also collected two rebounds to help wrap up the game in a 110-84 easy win for the United States.
Kevin Durant praises LeBron James after having a perfect scoring night: "He puts fear in the other team"
After a spectacular display against Serbia and kicking off the Olympics in a dominant fashion for his team, Kevin Durant attended an interview session with reporters at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium. The Phoenix Suns star answered questions about his return from injury and his new bench role on the national team.
One question asked KD about his thoughts on playing with LeBron James on the same team once again and the two-time NBA champion gave the Lakers star his flowers:
"So grateful to have him back. We missed him in the last two Olympics. He puts fear in the other team, that goes a long way, the psyche of the game. He's running downhill, making the right plays on offense and defensive end, it's just insane and I'm glad he's on our team."
LeBron James also had a spectacular night as he shared the burden of achieving national glory alongside KD. James scored 21 points, collected seven rebounds and dished out nine assists to help his team start the prestigious international tournament with a bang.
