"Grinded his a** up": Chauncey Billups once ripped into a Blazers player for uploading his dunk highlight at halftime

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups recently shared a humourous story on the "7 PM in Brooklyn" podcast. The former player and now coach appeared on the podcast hosted by Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero. Billups shared how a player once left him stunned by his actions.

Billups revealed on the podcast that a Trail Blazer player once uploaded a video of his own dunk at halftime, despite the team being down by 18 or so points at the interval. When asked by "Melo" what he did in response to this, Billups said:

"Man you know, I grinded his a** up, man."

Billups further revealed how the interaction between him and the player went down:

"I get wind of it, I said, 'Ay yo bro, get the f*** back there and take that s*** down of your joint man. What the f*** is wrong with you man?'"

Billups added that the player immediately apologized and got back to the court after following his instructions.

Chauncey Billups talks about Detroit Piston's missed opportunity to draft Carmelo Anthony

The Detroit Pistons had a great opportunity to draft one of the best players of his generation in the talented 2003 NBA draft class. The packed draft class was filled with players who would go on to make an impact on the league and the teams they played in. Names like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony were a part of the 2003 draft class.

With James being chosen as the No. 1 overall pick, many expected the Pistons to draft Anthony as the No. 2 overall pick, but they drafted Darko Milicic instead. Chauncey Billups at the time was a player for the Pistons and in the same podcast interview, looked back on the situation and lamented what could have been:

"We was already celebrating. ...We still reminisce about that s***, man. Like, we still don't know what happened. ...Man, we win at least three chips, bruh," Billups said. "I say it all the time. I'd be on 'em, I said, 'Bron woulda had to leave Cleveland a lot earlier than he left, cause they never was gon' beat us, " he added.

It would have been interesting to see Carmelo Anthony in a Pistons jersey knowing what he did for the Denver Nuggets during his time with them.
