"Has Melo's genes, you can tell" - NBA fans impressed by Kiyan Anthony's intense workout with Clippers guard Bones Hyland
High school basketball star Kiyan Anthony, son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, recently participated in a workout with LA Clippers guard Bones Hyland. The 17-year-old's ability to hold his own against NBA-caliber talent left fans raving about his potential.
Between his standout play for Long Island Lutheran High School and his father's AAU team, Team Melo, Kiyan continues to gain NBA buzz. On Tuesday, renowned NBA skills coach Chris Brickley fueled Anthony's hype by sharing a clip of him facing Hyland one-on-one in a workout.
In the video, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard can be seen taking Hyland off the dribble, hitting a variety of jumpers, and finishing at the rim. Anthony appears very comfortable against the soon-to-be-24-year-old Clippers reserve, who is gearing up for his fourth NBA season.
The clip had NBA fans on X/Twitter gushing over Anthony's upside, with some likening his skill set to his father's.

NBA skills coach raves about Kiyan Anthony's improvement
In his Tuesday Instagram post showcasing Kiyan Anthony's workout with Bones Hyland, Chris Brickley touched on Anthony's development.
The longtime NBA skills coach, who has worked with several superstars, including Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant, noted that Kiyan is "continuing to improve."
In June, Kiyan Anthony averaged 28.5 points per game at the NBPA Top 100 Camp. He followed that up by averaging 21.8 ppg over eight games at the PIT last month.
Anthony recently moved up to No. 40 on the ESPN 100 for the class of 2025, making him the top-ranked player from New York. While he has yet to commit to a college, he narrowed his options down to six schools last month. Those include Florida State, Ohio State, Rutgers, Auburn, USC and his father's alma mater, Syracuse.
Carmelo Anthony famously led Syracuse to the 2003 national championship. Thus, Kiyan is widely expected to follow in his father's footsteps by committing to the Orange.
"I just like the atmosphere, you know, obviously my dad went there 20-something years ago, so I just like the atmosphere, I like the family environment," Kiyan told ZagsBlog.
However, in an interview with On3, Anthony noted that he planned to make his final decision by October or November.
