"He's been back to his Jordan fashion” – Kendrick Perkins equates Kawhi Leonard’s recent form to Michael Jordan

Kendrick Perkins has taken notice of the recent stellar play of LA Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard. The former NBA veteran and current NBA analyst believes that Leonard is still one of the top players in the league when healthy.

The LA Clippers came into the 2022-23 NBA season as a popular preseason pick to make a run in the Western Conference. After a rollercoaster of a season, they have started to find their groove at the most important time of the year.

The Clippers continue to battle their way up the standings in a competitive Western Conference. Heading into Friday night's game, the team finds themselves in fifth place and are on the verge of passing the Phoenix Suns for fourth.

Superstar Paul George recently suffered an injury that is expected to keep him out for the majority of the remaining games. With George out, the Clippers need to lean on their other superstar, Leonard. He's answered the call and is starting to look like the dominant star fans are used to.

In his last seven games, Leonard has averaged 29.0 points per game while shooting 55.9% from the field. Kendrick Perkins praised Leonard while appearing on ESPN's "NBA Today," saying that the Clippers star is "back to his Jordan fashion." He said:

"When we talk about the top-10 players in the league, we might as well mention a healthy Kawhi Leonard. He's been back to his Jordan fashion."

Throughout his segment on ESPN, Kendrick Perkins continued to praise Kawhi Leonard's recent play and talked about how Leonard has looked like Michael Jordan due to the way his game has always "mimicked" the NBA legend.

If the LA Clippers are to have any chance moving forward, they will need to have Kawhi Leonard keep up with his recent play. Leonard has been dominant when healthy, but injuries have cast a dark cloud during his tenure with the Clippers.

Leonard was hoping to hit the ground running in 2022-23 after missing the entire previous season while recovering from an ACL injury. During the first half of the season, Kawhi continued to struggle to stay healthy. Now it looks as if Leonard is back at full force, as the Clippers are starting to find their groove at the perfect time.

The Clippers are coming off an impressive 127-105 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday. During that game, Leonard finished with 32 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals while shooting 13-of-15 from the field.
