"He's dealing with some stuff": Anthony Davis sounds alarm bells for Lakers fans with latest comment on LeBron James
LeBron James made his return to action on Sunday after missing two straight games, helping the Lakers secure a 116-110 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. LeBron had been sidelined due to left foot soreness after playing in the Purple and Gold’s first 23 games of the season.
In his comeback performance, LeBron showcased renewed energy, making an explosive start with a thunderous dunk followed by a highlight-reel chase-down block. While turnovers remained an issue as he committed five in the game, his overall impact was instrumental in the Lakers’ crucial win against the Grizzlies, led by Ja Morant.
After the game, Anthony Davis made a noteworthy and somewhat concerning remark about LeBron’s condition. Speaking to reporters, the Lakers star noted that the four-time NBA champion isn’t fully at his best and is currently dealing with some challenges.
Davis' comment appeared to refer to LeBron's current conditioning, suggesting that the four-time league MVP is not yet at the level he strives to reach in order to effectively lead his team to victories.
LeBron James opens up on his left foot injury
LeBron James addressed his injury openly, acknowledging that his left foot issue has been troubling him for a while. The Lakers superstar admitted that he is not yet completely pain-free but emphasized that he is doing everything possible to manage the discomfort and remain available for his team.
“It’s not behind me,” James said while commenting on his left foot problem. “It’s an every day thing. … But I was able to do some great things (on my break).”
LeBron also expressed relief at having a nine-day break amidst the grueling schedule as he used the time to recover from his injury while missing two games.
"It’s very rare. To be honest. You can get a break in the schedule like that," LeBron said. "It was a very easy decision for myself and for the team, for my trainer, to be able to take advantage of those days just for everything, so it was great."
In his return, LeBron played 34 minutes and made his usual impact on both ends of the floor. The veteran forward recorded 18 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, one steal and two blocks, shooting 7 of 17 from the field, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc.
