"He's going to be Suns lol": NBA fans sound off as Trae Young jams to Kevin Durant's rap song "Sacred Money" in carpool karaoke

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant's rap talent was unknown until his recent debut in one of Stalley’s new songs. The song might not have made it to the top of the chart, but Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young is certainly enjoying every beat of it, as Durant made an appearance in Stalley's “Sacred Money” album's title song.

Durant also showcased his talent, rapping a few lines that were inspired by his love for his grandmother.

“RIP to Barbara Davis, we hit another layer / When she speak to me, it’s like she saying prayers.”

Young was recently seen grooving in his car on Durant’s song. NBA fans couldn't help but point out that the Hawks star was trying to team up with KD in Phoenix. Some of the fans also believed that Young was going to the Suns next season.

"He trynna get to AZ," wrote another fan.
"He’s goin to the suns lol," said another.

However, some fans refused to believe that Trae Young was getting traded to the Phoenix Suns to join Kevin Durant.

A fan wrote, "Before yall type it it's not happening."
"You’re not getting traded to Phx bro," another fan added.

There were also some Phoenix Suns in the comment section, who asked Young to join the Suns. In return, they wanted the team to trade away Bradley Beal.

"Come to the suns give them Beal," wrote a fan.

Exploring the possibility of Trae Young joining Kevin Durant

One of the biggest issues that the Phoenix Suns faced this season as well as the postseason was the absence of a true point guard on the roster. In the absence of a proper ball handler, the responsibility fell on Devin Booker, who is more of a shooting guard.

Looking from this lens, Suns bringing in Trae Young makes all the sense in the world. However, the possibility of Kevin Durant joining Trae Young in two possible scenarios is very thin.

Perhaps, the most obvious reason is the fact that the Suns already have three max players on their roster. Bringing another max player is near an impossible scenario. Going into the 2024-25 season, the Suns can only sign players under minimum contract.

On the other hand, Kevin Durant moving out of Phoenix is also an unlikely scenario. Moreover, the Suns front office has made it clear that they do not want to move their big three and want to move into the next season with them.

Overall, Kevin Durant joining Trae Young, either in Phoenix or in Atlanta is a very unlikely scenario. But it's NBA business and anything is possible.
