"He’s a pawn that’s been moved into position" - Jason Whitlock hits out at Stephen A. Smith for claiming all major events are "orchestrated"

The beef between Stephen A. Smith and Jason Whitlock, which had been going on for years behind the scenes, exploded in January this year. Smith blasted Whitlock for labeling him a “fraud.” The “First Take” host called his former colleague some unflattering names that few will likely forget.

On Monday, Smith had a lengthy talk on his show about major events in America being “orchestrated.” He specifically mentioned Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat on a bus for a white passenger. It was an act of defiance that highlighted segregation and helped end it. Smith said that it was one of many “orchestrated” events so a bigger issue could be addressed.

Jason Whitlock didn’t take long to respond to Smith:

“Stephen A. Smith has no idea that he is actually talking about himself. He’s a pawn that has been moved in position. He’s orchestrated.”

Smith’s point started when the issue of Caitlin Clark’s name being used by others to promote racism, misogyny and homophobia came up. Clark previously said that she “can’t control” what is out there so her only focus is basketball. When DiJonai Carrington pushed back, the Indiana Fever rookie clarified her comments. She said that it was “disappointing” to know her name was weaponized and urged everyone to be respectful.

For the "Straight Shooter" author, Clark, not the person, but the “figure” that’s being utilized to address “a bigger issue.” From there, he pointed out how past events were “orchestrated” so society could address pressing concerns.

Jason Whitlock accused Stephen A. Smith of being “installed” in sports media

Jason Whitlock’s claim that Stephen A. Smith is being “orchestrated” started in January after the ESPN analyst called him a “fat b****rd. Back then, he called Smith as someone a “dude who could barely write” before rattling on:

“They’ve been installed, they’ve cut a deal, and written up some little false narrative for them. It’s not earned. Never at any point was Stephen A. Smith a great sports columnist. Stephen A. Smith made his name befriending Allen Iverson and breaking some new Allen Iverson-related news.
“He doesn’t have great opinions, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

For Whitlock, Smith was “installed” to take on bigger issues such as the Covid-19 vaccination. He asserted that the “First Take” host asked others to take the vaccine because somebody was dictating to him to push the agenda. Now, Whitlock is pointing out that Smith is supposedly clueless that he is being “orchestrated.”

Smith isn’t likely backing away from the latest shot Jason Whitlock just threw at him. Many will be expecting a response from the outspoken sports talk show host.
