"His loyalty is only to himself" - Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban warns Elon Musk about Donald Trump's loyalty
Over the past few weeks, Mark Cuban and Elon Musk have had numerous political debates on social media. As the 2024 presidential election gets closer, the Dallas Mavericks minority owner had another message for his fellow entrepreneur.
This discussions continue to drag on as the two continue to support different candidates. Cuban has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, while Musk continues to throw his support behind Donald Trump.
On Sunday afternoon, Musk made another pro-Trump post on X (formerly Twitter). This sparked a response from Mark Cuban, who conveyed a simple message. He applauded Musk's endless support of the former president but cautioned him that his loyalty might not yield him the results he's hoping for:
"At the point you need him the most, you will find out what so many before you have learned, his loyalty is only to himself."
When Cuban isn't engaging in political debates online, he still serves as a owner of the Dallas Mavericks. However, he's no longer the majority owner of the franchise. Back in December 2023, Cuban made what many considered a shocking move by selling his controlling interest.
Mark Cuban uses Elon Musk's own product against him in political debate
Since buying Twitter, Elon Musk has made numerous changes and additions to the social media platform. Mark Cuban ended up using one of Musk's newer products against him as they continue their war of words online.
Among the things the people at X have developed for the site is a product called Grok. It is an AI chatbot that is only available for people who subscribe to the Premium version of X.
After calling out Musk for his loyalty to Donald Trump, Mark Cuban went deeper into his original post. He put what Musk posted in the AI chatbot and asked if it was accurate. Grok ended up saying that Musk's post "contains several claims that need examination for accuracy and plausibility."
As the presidential election gets closer, these two don't seem intent on letting up on one another. They'll likely continue to go at it until November or even after that.
While continuing to throw support behind Vice President Harris, Cuban is also gearing up for a fresh NBA season. The Mavericks will soon be reporting to training camp, where they'll begin preparing for what they hope is another season that results in a deep postseason run.
