Steph Curry is impressed as Luka Doncic showcases his deep bag against super teams: “His size and his ball-handling skills keep you on edge”

Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic has been turning heads around the NBA with his play this season. It's gotten the attention of Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry.

Coming into the season, Doncic was a popular pick to win the MVP award. So far, it's been a sensational start for the 23-year-old. He is averaging 33.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He's also shooting 50.5%, including 31.5% from 3-point range.

His most recent performance got the attention of a fellow NBA superstar. In Tuesday night's 116-113 win over the Golden State Warriors, Doncic was his usual dominant self. He finished with 41 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists and four steals.

After the game, Steph Curry praised Doncic:

"His size and his ball-handling skills keep you on edge the whole game just 'cause he's that three-level scorer. You have to kind of worry about everything. You don't want to get step-back 3s going, so you gotta press up on him. But he's shifty and got a great handle, so he can use his leverage to get by you. And then, obviously his court vision is unreal.
"When he's knocking down shots like he did tonight, it's tough. Kind of wanted to take something away from him, but he kept making play after play and even made a couple of defensive plays on the other side. Couple, you know, steals and a strip on me, but, you know, he's been playing at an extremely high level, and he's been getting better every year."

Tuesday night's game against the Golden State Warriors showed just how dangerous Luka Doncic, one of the league's most dynamic forces, can be.

The next step for Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks (10-1) will be climbing up the standings in the Western Conference. Dallas has the tools to be a difficult opponent on any night. But the Mavs have struggled to consistently put together stretches of strong performances.

Dallas headed into Tuesday night's game with a four-game losing streak. So, the victory over the Warriors couldn't have come at a better time. After the home game against Golden State, the Mavericks are now preparing for a quick two-game road trip.

The Mavericks will head to Detroit to face the Pistons (5-18) on Thursday before a Saturday game against the New York Knicks (10-11). Dallas, 10th in the West, will then have its eyes set on a Western Conference showdown at home on Monday against the Phoenix Suns (14-6).

If Luka Doncic can continue to perform at this level, Dallas can climb the ranks.
