Hornets HC offers crucial Brandon Miller injury update
Brandon Miller's ankle injury was bad news for the Charlotte Hornets. The guard was injured midway into the fourth quarter amid a furious rally back against the Philadelphia 76ers. Miller landed on Guerschon Yabusele and sprained his ankle, immediately exiting the game.
The sequence of events saw Miller fight through contact as he barrelled his way to the rim. He stepped on Yabusele's foot while going up and rolled his ankle. While he did make the bucket, the second-year guard immediately signaled for a timeout. Later, speaking to the media, Hornets HC Charles Lee offered a key update.
“I think he might’ve stepped on a foot in front of our bench… we’ll evaluate him, and our performance staff will be on top of it.”
Miller hobbled off the court but had to be helped to the locker room. The Hornets officially announced that their star was done for the night, diagnosing his injury as a left ankle sprain. He recorded 12 points, four rebounds, and as many assists. He had one block and two turnovers in his 31 minutes on the floor.
