How many points did Klay Thompson score tonight against Sacramento Kings? (April 16)

Klay Thompson and Anthony Davis steered the Dallas Mavericks to a comfortable 120-106 win over the Sacramento Kings in their play-in clash at the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday.

Thompson, a four-time NBA champion, racked up 23 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block to help the Mavs stay alive in the season. The veteran forward found his mojo early on, shooting 5-7 from the field and 4-6 from deep with 16 points in the second quarter. He ended with 23 on 8-11 shooting from the field and 5-7 from the arc.

Thompson turned the jets in the second quarter, making up for his dismal efforts from the last play-in when he played the Kings as a member of the Warriors.

The seasoned campaigner came into the game averaging 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

"Really feel the love here": Klay Thompson talks about life as a Dallas Maverick

Klay Thompson's move from the Golden State Warriors was an emotional one, but the forward is feeling at home in Dallas. Speaking to ESPN's Tim McMahon, Thompson said he felt rejuvenated after joining the Mavericks fold.

"Honestly, it's rejuvenated me and done something I needed for my mental (state) and my career. So, I really feel the love here, and I feel highly valued that I can do great things."

At 34, Thompson is nearing the final stages of a decorated career.

The Mavs will shift their focus to their next game against a stern Grizzlies unit. The winner will advance to the playoffs to face a formidable OKC Thunder team in the first round.
