How many points did LeBron James score tonight against the Golden State Warriors? (April 3)

LeBron James exploded in the second half as the LA Lakers made a desperate attempt to chase down the Golden State Warriors' lead. The four-time NBA champion had just eight points, two rebounds, and three assists in over 19 minutes as the LA Lakers trailed 60-47 at halftime at Crypto.com Arena on Thursday.

But he came alive in the second half to finish with 33 points, five rebounds, nine assists, one steal, and one block. His efforts, though, were in vain as LA lost 123-116.

The game also saw an injury scare after James was sprawled on the floor for a long stretch after a collision with Jonathan Kuminga. After appearing to have the wind knocked out of him, he sat on the bench for a breather and returned to the floor soon after. James shot 10-for-15 from the field and 5-for-8 from the 3-point line.

Night for forget for LeBron James and Co. after LA crash and burn against Warriors

The Lakers found themselves in a lull on both ends of the floor. This allowed Brandin Podziemski to drill eight 3s that gave the Warriors a healthy lead that they held onto. LA's Luka Doncic had a torrid game shooting 6-for-17 and 0-for-6 for his 19 points.

LeBron James and Reaves (31 points on 9-for-16 shooting from the deep) attempted a late rally against Golden State with Rui Hachimura contributing 24 points. But their combined scoring was not enough as the Warriors capitalized on the Lakers' early errors that proved costly.

Up next, the Lakers host the New Orleans Pelicans before hitting the road for a three-game trip. LeBron James and Doncic will hope that they can put the loss to the Dubs behind them quickly as they aim to finish as a top-five seed with a handful of games left.
