How many points did LeBron James score tonight against Minnesota Timberwolves? (April 23)

LeBron James's triple-double helped the LA Lakers bounce back with a 94-85 win in Game 2 of the 2025 NBA playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The veteran forward propped up 21 points and 11 rebounds along with seven assists as the team, led by Luka Doncic's record-night double-double, evened the series 1-1 at the Crypto.com Arena.

The 4x NBA champion looked solid for the Lakers on Tuesday. With much of his efforts focusing on defense, James shot 8-19 from the field and 1-5 from the deep. Earlier, he propped up 13 points as the Purple and Gold led the Timberwolves 58-43 at halftime.

James shot 5-9 from the field and 1-2 from beyond the arc. He added four rebounds, four assists, and one block. The 40-year-old went about his business finding the gaps on the floor for his points, even as his teammate Luka Doncic exploded for 16 first-half points. The veteran forward came into the game averaging 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists while shooting 51.3% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point line.

LeBron James calls for better offensive performance from LA after Game 2 win

LeBron James called for more efforts on offense despite their double-digit lead for a majority of the game. At one stage, LA seemed to be comfortably placed with a solid 20+ point lead, which the T-Wolves attempted to trim down. A series of clunky sequences saw them allow the visitors to rally back, but they were able to fend off with timely plays by James and Austin Reaves.

Speaking to the reporters after the win, James said:

"We can still be better offensively. I thought at times we were sharp and at others we weren't... I thought we had some great looks tonight... If we can continue to get great looks like that, we trust in our percentages."

The Lakers will hope to carry over their improved performance to Minnesota for Games 3 and 4. Their offense that's reliant on LeBron James, Reaves, and Doncic will hope to see some juice from the bench in the matchups to follow.
