How many points did Luka Doncic score tonight against Minnesota Timberwolves? (April 25)
Luka Doncic had a game to forget as he was plagued by a stomach bug in the LA Lakers' 116-104 trouncing by the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center on Friday. Anthony Edwards' Timberwolves played solid basketball to go up 2-1 in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.
Doncic was off to a quiet start in Game 3. He had two points, one rebound, five assists, one steal, and one block at halftime. He improved in the second half to finish with 17 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists while shooting 6-16 from the field, including 2-8 from deep.
The Slovenian was given a lengthy breather at the start of the second quarter as the Lakers attempted to recover from Minnesota's electric start. Doncic came into the game averaging 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 7.7 assists while shooting 45.0% from the field, including 35.6% from deep.
JJ Redick reveals Luka Doncic's condition pre-game
Speaking to reporters after the game, the LA Lakers head coach revealed that Doncic's symptoms were bad leading up to the showdown.
"He hasn't been feeling well for the last 24 hours," Redick said. "I don't know how much he slept last night. He didn't feel well last night. His stomach was bothering him. He was vomiting all afternoon. I'm not sure what happened at half time, I'll find out. But he's really under the weather."
The Lakers will hope Doncic can recover ahead of Game 4 as they look to even the scoreline again. While they managed to stay in the contest on Friday, erratic plays on both ends of the floor tilted the scale in the end.
