Gabrielle Union questions the arrest of reporters in UCLA
Gabrielle Union is a proud alumna of UCLA. In May, she spoke against the arrest of reporters inside the campus of UCLA in light of the protest held inside the campus against the Israel-Gaza War.
The ongoing Israel-Gaza war has moved the political needle in the university campuses, where students and faculties have spoken against the war. However, when the Daily Bruin, the student newspaper on the UCLA campus posted on X that the Los Angeles PD had threatened to arrest reporters on the campus, Union publicly raised questions.
"Ask yourself why reporters would need to be arrested for reporting on what's happening at UCLA? What dont they want the public to know? Asking as a UCLA alum class of 1996," Union wrote in her Tweet on X, formerly known as "Twitter."
Despite voicing her support for students and the faculty members, The Guardian reported later that at least 200 hundred pro-Palestine protestors had been arrested by May 2. It was also reported that over 1,000 students had gathered to participate in the protest.
When it comes to voicing her opinion, Gabrielle Union has always been fearless about it. From showing support to black women in Hollywood and sports to openly slamming the hate culture on X, and eventually leaving it, the Hollywood actress doesn't beat around the bush.
