JJ Redick explains why he chose Luka Doncic over Steph Curry: “I chose Luka…Luka is lightly better”
Steph Curry has achieved many milestones throughout his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors, but he still gets to be overlooked by many. Former NBA player JJ Redick explained to Curry why he chose someone else as a better basketball player last season.
As an NBA analyst, JJ Redick has shared his hot takes with the public since retiring from basketball. There are some that make sense, but there have been a few head-scratchers. One of those takes came when he chose Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic over Curry.
In a new episode of "The Old Man & The Three," Redick talked about why he chose the Slovenian superstar.
"I chose Luka," Redick said. "My gyst of it was, he's got more size, and this year, his clutch stats are better. ... Luka is slightly better."
Curry did respond, saying that he's aware of everything that's being said about him. The eight-time All-Star pointed out that he's developed a tolerance to the things that are said.
"It's nice to be aware of what's going on, and also develop and a sense of comfortability in who I am," Curry said. "You wanna be aware of what's going on but I'm also so secure in who I am and what I can do on the floor. It's more entertainment at this point."
Last season, Redick gave a hot take on the show "First Take," which baffled many. This included Stephen A. Smith and Patrick Beverley, who argued that Curry was the better option when it comes to clutch situations.
"We're talking about right now, in 2022," Redick said. "Who would you rather have with the ball, with the game on the line? It's clearly Luka Doncic!"

Steph Curry acknowledges LeBron James' and Kyrie Irving's greatness
At the height of Steph Curry and the Warriors' dynasty, they often matched up against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Throughout their bouts, they've developed a rivalry that's often highly anticipated. Both teams made sure to turn their matchups into challenges worth watching.
Alongside James was Kyrie Irving, who became one of his best teammates in his 20-year career.
The teams first encountered each other in the 2015 Finals, where the Warriors took home the Larry O'Brien Trophy. The following season, they met each other again and both teams performed at an all-time high. The 2016 NBA Finals was one for the history books and is considered one of the best series in the league's history.
Steph Curry gave his respect to both James and Irving for carrying the Cavs to a title win:
"It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. Bron and Kyrie were just on. Like, we played well; they just played better, and it was hard to watch and be in that vibe where you couldn't do anything about it."
