"I'd have been on stage too" - Baron Davis reveals why he ditched Kendrick Lamar's concert & missed catching Russell Westbrook on stage

Former Golden State Warriors star Baron Davis shared how his back problems caused him to miss being on stage at the Kendrick Lamar concert. The famed rapper had a Juneteenth "Pop Out" concert, which was packed with other NBA stars. The concert had stars Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan jam with the famed artist on stage.

Lamar performed his hit diss track "Not Like Us" six times in a row at the event. The two NBA stars were jamming and dancing on stage with the other rappers, which went viral on the internet. LeBron James was also in attendance but didn't go to the stage.

As it turned out, Davis was supposed to be with the other stars on stage as he was invited to go earlier in the concert. However, his back problems prevented him from going on stage and made him watch the whole thing from afar.

The former Warriors star shared his story on "The Draymond Green Show."

"I wish I was there," Davis said. "I threw my back out. Like top dawg was like, 'Meet me at 4:30.' And my back went out. So I was watching it on the floor. I'd have been on stage too, bro.

"Can you imagine if my s*** would have went out on stage? I'd already got hurt in the game. Carted off on a f******, 'Nah I'm cool my n****, I'mma stay here and watch this s***.'"

The former guard was born and raised in Los Angeles, which could've been perfect if he was on stage. The players who went on stage with Lamar were all California natives.

Baron Davis on Klay Thompson's departure

Fans of the Warriors were devastated after Klay Thompson chose the Dallas Mavericks this summer. Many expected the star guard to finish his career at Golden State since he helped them win four titles in his 13-year stay. One of the people who didn't like Thompson's departure was Baron Davis.

As a former Warriors player, Davis shared his thoughts on Thompson leaving the team.

"I hate to see it because y'all was babies," Davis said. "It's similar to how we feel about Kobe [Bryant] here in L.A., 'cause you watch y'all go young men to men to superstars to legends. I wish Klay the best ... S*** man, the dynasty is over."

Davis also shared that the Warriors should honor Thompson the way he should be honored in his first game back at Chase Center.
