"I won't discredit or undermine anybody" - DeMar DeRozan dismisses Anthony Edwards' controversial take on Michael Jordan's era

Anthony Edwards' comments about the skill level of former players have not died down to others. In the latest episode of "Podcast P with Paul George," DeMar DeRozan, the guest star, didn't agree with what Edwards said.

According to the Minnesota Timberwolves star, Michael Jordan was the only player who had real skill in the past. His comments outraged iconic players who played during Jordan's time. LA Lakers legend Magic Johnson didn't acknowledge Edwards' words as he isn't a champion.

Detroit Pistons icon Isiah Thomas mocked him on X (formerly Twitter) as he posted a highlight of him doing a bounce pass leading to an alley-oop.

Players have not stopped talking about Edwards' comments regarding the skill level during Jordan's time. DeRozan shared his take and talked about how he tried to understand what the young star was trying to relay to the public with his comments. But eventually dismissed what the Wolves star said about the matter.

"I was trying to understand where he was coming from," DeRozan said. "But I know from my point of view, I would never discredit or undermine anybody who came before me, regardless.

The Sacramento Kings star talked about watching past players like Alex English and George Gervin growing up. DeRozan acknowledged that the players he mentioned had skills, although it was incomparable to what Jordan had to offer.

"I feel like everybody had their own skill, just because it wasn't to a Michael Jordan level, don't discredit it."

DeRozan talked about it at the 1:17:15 mark of the episode.

Edwards has not responded to the criticism he's received for his comments.

Anthony Edwards showed off his game against kids at his basketball camp

While it's the offseason, Anthony Edwards took the time to teach and mentor a few kids fortunate enough to participate in his camp. However, Edwards didn't go easy on the children.

The two-time All-Star didn't show any mercy to the kids at his camp.

Edwards had a great summer. After leading the Wolves to the Western Conference finals, the star guard participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics. At the Olympics, he came off the bench and was a stellar source of points for Team USA. The 6-foot-4 guard helped the national team secure another gold medal win.
