"I wasn't expecting it at all. I never win sh*t": Jaylen Brown gets candid after winning Eastern Conference Finals MVP

The Boston Celtics are back in the NBA Finals led by Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. The Greens are looking to end their 16-year championship drought this season and their star duo looks hungrier than ever.

Brown won the Larry Bird Eastern Conference finals MVP award after a terrific series against the Indiana Pacers. Brown was asked if he was surprised by winning this award and he was as honest as he could.

"I wasn't expecting it at all. I never win sh*t. I was just happy that we won. And give credit to Indiana. They played us tough. I know people think that Indiana wasn't a good team or whatever the case be.
I thought they were as tough as anybody we played all season. They were physical, they were fast; they put a lot of pressure on us so shout out to them and respect to them," Brown told reporters. (:18 mark)

When former Celtic Cedric Maxwell called his name, Brown showed his surprise, saying "oh s**t."

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been on fire this postseason, and now wait to see if the Minnesota Timberwolves can turn things around or if the Mavericks will sweep the Anthony Edwards-led team in the West finals.

The only certainty right now is that Brown went off on the Pacers, averaging 29.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in four games for the Celtics.

Fans criticized Jaylen Brown for hitting TJ McConnell in the face

Not everything was sweet for Jaylen Brown during this game, as he starred in a controversial moment with TJ McConnell. The Celtics star jumped to contest a shot and ended up hitting McConnell in the face.

Multiple fans weren't happy with that and took to X/Twitter to call out Brown's behavior. He didn't get a flagrant for that play, which made things worse for fans.

"How is that not a flagrant foul?"

Ultimately, the Celtics won dramatically again, securing a spot in the NBA Finals against either the Timberwolves or Mavericks, while Brown kept proving himself this season.

After years of striving for an NBA championship, the Celtics have a unique opportunity to do so. However, their next challenge will not be easy at all, and they must be aware of that.
