"I f**king love this combo" - Travis Kelce reveals his go-to NBA jersey colors in candid chat with Jason Kelce
Jason and Travis Kelce are probably the most popular brother duos. On the latest episode of the "New Heights" podcast, the Kelce brothers shared their favorite color schemes in sports.
Jason loves green, not just because he played for the Philadelphia Eagles, but in general. He also likes the green and yellow combo of the Oakland Athletics. Meanwhile, Travis prefers the old-school Cavaliers colors from the 1990s. The brothers grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, less than 30 minutes from Cleveland.
"I'm an old-school '90s Cavs fan," Travis said. "I f**cking love this combo. The splash jerseys. The one where it looked like they had paint going across their jerseys. The Shawn Kemp years, the '96, '97, '98. ... It has that orange in their."
Jason and Travis Kelce also asked if they were programmed to like orange since it's the color of the Cleveland Browns. Jason also likes the Denver Broncos jersey, as well as the Baltimore Orioles' color scheme.
The Kelce brothers are huge Cleveland Cavaliers fans and are often courtside when watching games at the Rocket Mortgage Field House. The Cavaliers honored them with a Bobblehead Night last season for their fandom, as well as contributions to the city.
Travis played basketball in high school before giving it up for football, becoming one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history. He has played his entire career for the Kansas City Chiefs and is looking to win his fourth Super Bowl championship this season.
Meanwhile, Jason retired last season after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He won a Super Bowl title in 2018.
Travis Kelce cried when the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA championship
LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2016 NBA championship after overcoming a 3-1 deficit against the 73-win Golden State Warriors. James dedicated the win to the city of Cleveland and its fanbase, who had been longing for a sports title for decades.
Travis Kelce, who attended Cleveland Heights High School, was overwhelmed with emotions when the Cavs won the championship. Kelce told Sports Illustrated that he cried his eyes out after the city's first sports title since the 1964 Browns won the NFL championship.
"I cried," Kelce said. "I was very emotional, real tears. It was an emotional, emotional day. For them to do it in historical fashion like they did, for LeBron to finally bring one back to the city as a Northeast Ohio guy ... I'm happy for him, I'm happy for the city."
The Cavs are looking to win another championship this season. They own the best record in the NBA at 23-4 led by Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley.
