"I can't feel my foot" - Scottie Barnes appears to mutter in agony after massive collision with Knicks starĀ

Toronto Raptors star forward Scottie Barnes harshly collided with New York Knicks star center Karl-Anthony Towns during Monday's home matchup. The seemingly incidental contact left the one-time All-Star writhing in pain before exiting and not returning.

Barnes and Towns' collision occurred with Toronto leading 73-68 with 6:47 remaining in the third quarter. While attempting to contest Towns' shot attempt inside, Barnes landed on him and promptly fell to the floor, holding onto his right foot in agony.

Barnes appeared to repeatedly mutter the phrase, "I can't feel my foot" as the Raptors' training staff attended to him.

Unable to put any weight on his right foot, Barnes hopped back to the locker room, where he was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Per Toronto insider Vivek Jacob, the 2021 No. 4 draft pick suffered a sprained right ankle. He finished with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers, shooting 45.5% across 23 minutes.

In Scottie Barnes' absence, the Knicks outscored the Raptors 45-35 the rest of the way, securing a 113-108 road win. They were led by Towns, who tallied 24 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, two steals, two blocks and two triples, shooting 53.8%.

The four-time All-Star drilled a clutch 3 to put New York up five points with 6.3 seconds to go. The deep shot proved to be the dagger, as Toronto couldn't convert another basket before time expired.

Raptors have struggled mightily without Scottie Barnes this season

Scottie Barnes' ankle injury marks his second ailment this season. He previously missed 11 games due to a right orbital fracture before returning on Nov. 21.

Toronto has struggled mightily without its versatile star, going 2-9. Conversely, the team is 5-9 with Barnes in its lineup.

The 2022 Rookie of the Year is expected to undergo further testing on his right ankle on Tuesday to determine his return timeline.

The Raptors (7-18) next visit the Miami Heat (12-10) on Thursday, with Barnes' status for the showdown seemingly in jeopardy.
