"I got $1 he gets a T tonight" - Michelle Beadle quips about Draymond Green's hostile warning to Klay Thompson before Mavericks game

Before the highly anticipated return of the Dallas Mavericks star, Draymond Green mentioned that he plans on not showing mercy in Klay Thompson's first game back.

On Tuesday, the stage is set for Thompson's return to Chase Center for the first time to play against his former team, the Golden State Warriors.

In an interview on Oct. 21 with ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk, Green talked about his mentality in playing against his former teammate. The former Michigan State player said he plans to "run through his chest."

Former NBA player Lou Williams remembered what the Warriors forward said about the upcoming matchup with Thompson. On Tuesday's "Run It Back," Williams talked about it with his other co-hosts.

"Draymond has already said he's running through Klay's chest the first chance he gets," Williams recalled. "We've never heard Draymond make that declaration about anybody. He's joking but he's serious too."

Williams' co-host Michelle Beadle placed a wager on how brutal Thompson and the Warriors' opening matchup would be. According to what Green stated, Beadle has wagered that the defensive forward will be given a technical foul at some point during the match.

"I got a $1 that he gets a T tonight," Beadle said. "Just one, just because it'll be fun and crazy."

Upon learning of Green's intentions, Thompson remained confined and declared that he would be prepared to "take two."

Their Tuesday matchup is also their opener for this year's Emirates NBA Cup. Both teams will play against each other three times this season, including their NBA Cup game.

Draymond Green and the Warriors share a heartfelt message for Klay Thompson

The Warriors took their time to gather those who played with Thompson last season, including Draymond Green, for a special message. The team organized a video that compiled his recent teammates welcoming him back for the first time this year.

In the video, the trio of Green, Steph Curry and head coach Steve Kerr shared heartfelt messages welcoming the former Warrior back.

"You are an icon in this franchise, your statue will be outside Chase one day," Kerr said. "Thank you for all the championships, all the incredible moments, the person you are, the teammate you are. I loved coaching you and welcome back.
"It's an honor to play with you for 13 years. I'll always remember every memory we were able to create as teammates and the Splash Brothers," Curry said. "I hope you get the hero's welcome that you deserve."
"Welcome back," Green said. "I never thought that I'd be saying those words to Klay. I'm thankful, I'm honored to have been your teammate, to call you brother."

Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton II, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski and Kevon Looney shared their messages for Thompson too.
