"I don't know too much": Michael Jordan's unique customized Rolex leaves New York Jeweler dumbfounded

Michael Jordan is the richest NBA player of all time, as per Celebrity Net Worth, and boasts a collection of watches worthy of his $3.5 billion Forbes valuation. For GQ, watch expert Moses the Jeweler broke down the best watches owned by NBA players and saved the best for last, reviewing Michael Jordan's most impressive watches, proclaiming him to be the GOAT.

The New York jeweler first reviewed Michael Jordan's Rolex Daytona 6263 watch, calling it a classy and unique addition to his Airness' collection. However, he was left baffled when he was shown the next watch in the collection: a Rolex Daytona Paul Newman 6241.

The watch has a lot of custom modifications and features a translucent band. The model, which is named after the former American movie star and race driver, is perhaps the most unique watch owned by an NBA player. It seemed to perplex even the watch expert's watchful eyes. Moses the Jeweler said (09:20):

"He has this sapphire crystal, type of band, which seems like would have to have been custom made. It's pretty crazy to do that on such an original piece like the Paul Newman that vintage Daytona. I never heard of this being custom done."

This variant is considered one of the holy grails of modern watch collecting, a highly coveted piece exclusive to select collectors. It's no surprise that Jordan owns this beautiful timepiece.

Moses further asked fans watching the video to share more information on the watch (09:38):

"But comment down below what you know about this. I don't know too much what I'm looking at right now."

The watch features an acrylic bezel and was designed specifically for the American market. Only 400 pieces were created, with Michael Jordan's featuring several modifications.

Prices for well-preserved models have exceeded $500,000. However, it's safe to assume that a watch owned by 'His Airness' could easily surpass that.

Michael Jordan wore $2 million watch to NASCAR event

Jordan was spotted wearing a $2 million hyper watch by Purnell to celebrate his NASCAR team 23XI's victory in April. Jordan is known for being a big collector of watches, and this line of hyper watches is the cutting edge of technical innovation and is strikingly esthetic.

The watch is engaged within a 48 millimeter Blue Sapphire case and adorned with 152 brilliantly cut diamonds. The watch features a wound movement with a power reserve of 32 hours.

Jordan has often been early to pounce on nascent and burgeoning watch brands, as evidenced by him getting into the Datograph train well over 20 years ago. His endorsement of the Purnell bodes well for the up and coming hyperwatch brand.
