"I had a little blood": Steph Curry bluntly shrugs off injury worries from Team USA Olympics campĀ
Day 2 of the Team USA Olympics camp featured more scrimmages with the star-filled roster involving Steph Curry, LeBron James, etc. However, there was a brief concern when the two-time MVP got his hand checked out by the medical staff after a practice run. Following the report, it didn't take long for a reassuring update on the matter to be posted by NBC Sports Bay Area's Dalton Johnson.
Looking over the men's roster in this year's USA Basketball, there's no denying the importance of Curry's inclusion. His shotmaking remains incredibly efficient at this stage of his career as he also adds some quality decision-making in his production.
Luckily for the team, the Warriors superstar isn't too worried about his hand incident, per Dalton Johnson's report on X.
"I had a little blood," Curry said.
Before the team's latest shootarounds, Steph Curry was the first player to show up to training camp in Las Vegas. The last time he represented the USA was in the 2014 FIBA World Cup, which was held in Spain.
During that year's gold medal run, the 3-point shooting marksman posted 10.7 points (40.8% shooting, including 43.8% from beyond the arc), 2.9 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.
Steph Curry talked about his experience on Day 2 of the USA Basketball Olympics Training Camp
After last year's disappointing loss to Canada in the FIBA World Cup, it was evident that the USA Basketball program needed to make necessary adjustments to counter opponents' efforts in the Paris Olympics.
This year's roster is stacked with tremendous talent left and right while also possessing the necessary utility and two-way athletes to strengthen rotation versatility.
Following Day 2 of training camp, Steph Curry highlighted the incredible progress made in building comradery with the team.
"It was nice to play against some other bodies, a lot of young dudes over there," Curry said (via NBA on X). "They were trying to come at us but while you're trying to get in shape, trying to get some chemistry, it's nice to compete like that. I think we had fun. Good Day 2, lot of room for improvement though."
Building a strong sense of chemistry in a roster filled with number-one options at every position is crucial. Key roles will have to be established right from the jump with a reiteration of a unified goal of bringing home the gold medal.
The 2024 Team USA lineup is not just comprised of proven and seasoned veterans, such as Steph Curry, on the squad but it also features some of the most promising young stars the league has to offer.
The coming days will be critical to this team's chances of success once the Paris Games commence, considering proper preparations and conditioning will still need to be utilized.
