"I'll knock that MFer out of bounds" - 3x NBA champion reveals leaving 'hickeys' on Dwyane Wade over rebound disputes
A Miami Heat legend humorously revealed that he left what he called "hickeys" on Dwyane Wade's head due to disputes over rebounds, joking that Wade could take as many shots as he wanted but should not compete with centers for rebounds.
Udonis Haslem, the longest-tenured player in Heat history who won three championships with the team, shared rebounding tips with rookie Kel’El Ware on The OGs Show. During this, he shared a funny anecdote about Dwyane Wade.
Haslem humorously insisted that centers should not let guards like Dwyane Wade get rebounds, even if they are teammates, and joked that “The Flash” got hickeys on his head because of it.
“If them little n****s is in your way and they on our team, go over the top of their ass—I put plenty hickeys on D-Wade head,” Haslem said. “Cause listen, you get to take 17, 18, 25 shots. I get three shots. And you down here want the rebounds too. No, no, no, no.”
“I'm gonna get it or none of us gone get it. I’ll knock that motherf**er out of bounds and you.”
Haslem averaged 6.9 rebounds per game in the 689 games he played with Dwyane Wade. He became the Heat's all-time leading rebounder with 5,791 boards, surpassing Alonzo Mourning's 4,807.
Where does Dwyane Wade rank in the all-time rebounding list for guards?
Dwyane Wade is widely regarded as one of the greatest shooting guards in NBA history. He spent most of his 16-year career with the Miami Heat and won championships in 2006, 2012 and 2013.
He ranks 18th among all guards in NBA history in terms of total rebounds, with 4,933 in his career.
The guard with the most rebounds all time is Jason Kidd, with 8,725. The second place and the highest active player on the list is Russell Westbrook with 8,307.
