"I love my wife Marlene" - Kyrie Irving shuts down question about his 'celebrity hall pass'
Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks is not interested in having a "celebrity hall pass." Irving also expressed his love for his wife Marlene Wilkerson, who he has been in a relationship with since December 2018. The couple have two sons together.
In a video on social media, Irving was asked about who would be his "celebrity hall pass." Not knowing what it meant, the Mavericks superstar asked what it was and was told it would be a celebrity he is allowed to "mess" with.
"I love my wife, Marlene Wilkerson. Yo, shout out to my wife and kids," Irving said.
Kyrie Irving and Marlene Wilkerson began dating in December 2018 and were reportedly engaged nine months later when the social media personality was seen wearing a ring. The two seemingly got married as well since they refer to each other as husband and wife publicly.
Kyrie Irving and Marlene Wilkerson have two sons together
In addition to being a lovely couple, Kyrie Irving and Marlene Wilkerson have two sons together. Wilkerson became a first-time mom in June 2021 when she gave birth to Kaire.
"It’s definitely the most beautiful, sacred, intimate experience I've ever experienced in my whole life. It was also something that was the most beautiful time in my life, where I feel completely called to share my experience in hopes, not even hopes, but in faith that other women, other families will take the initiative to advocate for themselves and also have the birth that they want," Wilkerson said in one of her YouTube vlogs.
Wilkerson gave birth to their second son in October 2022, choosing not to disclose any information about him. It should be pointed out that Irving has a daughter named Azurie Elizabeth with ex-girlfriend Andrea Wilson.
Kyrie Irving to have a new star teammate next season
The Dallas Mavericks failed to lift the 2024 NBA championship after falling way short against the dominant Boston Celtics. The Mavericks wanted to fix their problems beyond the arc and turned to free agent guard Klay Thompson for help.
Dallas brought in Thompson by signing him to a three-year, $50 million deal to play with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Thompson leaves a legacy behind with the Golden State Warriors, but was ready to move on after winning four championships there.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Irving heavily recruited Thompson during free agency in an effort to one-up LeBron James. The LA Lakers were also interested in one-half of the Splash Brothers, but he ultimately decided to take his talents to Dallas.
Thompson would perfectly fit in with the Mavs, especially with Doncic and Irving at the helm. They are both great players in terms of scoring the basketball, but they are also capable of finding the open man.
