La La Anthony opens up about her struggles with plaque psoriasis
La La Anthony has been a face in front of the camera since she was a child. Acting was always her biggest passion and her face glowed up anytime she was facing the camera.
However, the former MTV VJ found herself struggling to go in front of the camera for more than a decade because of plaque psoriasis, a skin condition.
In conversation with Angen, the "BMF" star said that when she initially suffered from the condition, she ignored it, thinking that it was due to the dandruff in her hair. Later on, as the condition got worse, La La knew that she had to meet a doctor.
She also told Angen that some of her biggest struggles with her skin condition came right when she had to appear in front of the camera. She also added that the problem becomes a big distraction before the big premiers she attends.
"Some of my biggest struggles with plaque psoriasis are in the moments where no one is watching,"La La Anthony told Angen. "Like leading up to this one big premiere – I remember I was hyper-aware of all the photos that were about to be taken, and it was distracting for me before the event. I didn’t want anyone to see my skin and think, 'What is that?'"
The former wife of the NBA star also recalled the first time when her son Kiyan Anthony noticed her condition.
"Plaque psoriasis can be frustrating, even if you don’t have a lot of it. I remember on days when my symptoms were bad, my son would look and say, ‘What’s that?’ – kids notice just about everything, even when you least expect it.
However, the Hollywood actress used her skin condition as an opportunity to teach her son a great lesson; "there’s more to people than what meets the eye."
La La Anthony has been very open about her skin condition and continues to raise awareness about plaque psoriasis among her fans and followers.
