"I’m not even going to say what I’m thinking"- Giannis Antetokounmpo opens up about winning his first championship

When Giannis Antetokounmpo was first drafted, nobody expected him to turn into the player he is now. He was once an extremely raw prospect that morphed into a possible all-time great.

The culmination of Giannis' growth came during the 2021 season when he led the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA title. It was the perfect ending for one of the best homegrown stories the league has ever seen.

Throughout the 2021 playoffs, Giannis Antetokounmpo was a man determined to achieve greatness. His biggest performance came in the finals clincher, when he erupted for 50 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 64% from the field.

In a recent interview with The Atheltic, the two-time MVP opened up on what that championship meant to him. As expected, he gave an outlandish answer that could get a laugh out of anyone.

"That feeling was one of the best feelings I've had, and I'm not even going to say what I'm thinking because it's probably gonna viral.
"I'm sorry, but it's better than getting intimate sometimes, you know what I mean?"

Giannis Antetokounmpo opens up on MVP race

The MVP race has been one of the most talked about conversations in the NBA this year. As one of the league's top talents, Giannis Antetokounmpo is once again in the running for the award.

As the regular season comes to a close, it is basically a three-player race between him, Nikola Jokic, and Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid. Giannis and Jokic have already won MVP twice while Embiid is still waiting for his first win.

Later in the interview, Giannis gave his thoughts on possibly winning MVP for the third time in his career. His competitive side would love to land the honors again, but it isn't something he talks about often.

"I don't want to be that guy who says something to influence people. I try to control what I can control.
"Of course I want people to value me and what I bring to the table. But at the end of hte day, the way I view it, the best player is the player that makes his team great. I just want to keep on making my team great, and hopefully more blessing come along my way."

With the Milwaukee Bucks holding the top spot in the Eastern Conference, Giannis could very well take home the hardware again. In 54 games this season, he is averaging 31.5 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists.
