Michael Jordan reveals he was terrified for Bubba Wallace during NASCAR race
Michael Jordan's team secured the 2024 NASCAR regular-season championship on Sunday as Tyler Reddick finished 10th at the Cook Out Southern 500 race. They got the edge by one point, but there's still more work to do.
"His Airness" felt the nerves during the event, even saying he was scared while watching Bubba Wallace race.
"I'm absolutely terrified for him right now," Jordan said.
"Because I want him to do well obviously, and Tyler too, I know Tyler's a little sick, but he's struggling trying to get through. That's what NASCAR's all about, I enjoy it, you know, I don't have basketball anymore but this could replace it very easily."
It wasn't an easy race for the team, as Reddick was dealing with the flu, and Wallace wasted his pole-position start and crashed early in the race. Now, Reddick will compete in the playoff for a chance at the biggest award.
The next race of the calendar, the Quaker State 400, will take place on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Knowing how competitive Jordan is, this will be a good opportunity to keep collecting honors.
