"I'm not a Milwaukee guy" - Charles Barkley unimpressed with Giannis Antetokounmpo, demands Bucks star refine his skills

The Milwaukee Bucks are title contenders, but former NBA star Charles Barkley doesn't think the team has what it takes. Barkley believes that Giannis Antetokounmpo should make changes to his game if the Bucks are serious about winning a championship.

Antetokounmpo is one of the best forwards in the game. His natural athleticism makes him unstoppable, which also makes him a fan favorite. But not all are impressed with what he can do on the court. Barkley is one of the people who wants to see a different skill set emerge from the Bucks star.

According to Barkley, Antetokounmpo's style of running people down isn't impressive. The former Phoenix Suns star wants to see the Greek forward become a better basketball player, someone who doesn't rely on agility.

Barkley talked about it in his recent appearance on "The Bill Simmons Podcast."

"Giannis has to get better as a basketball player. Just going downhill 1-on-5 isn't going to work. It doesn't work and he's a terrific player and a terrific kid, but he has to get better as a basketball player. I'm not a Milwaukee guy," Barkley said.

While most fans love seeing Antetokounmpo speed up and down the court, there are a few who think it's time for a change. Relying heavily on speed might prove to be problematic for the star forward. He is 29-years-old and will likely lose some athleticism as he ages.

Barkley wants to see the former 15th-overall pick show some finesse and control in his game. Over the past few seasons, Antetokounmpo has frustrated fans with his outside shooting, but it hasn't improved.

ESPN analyst backs Charles Barkley's comments about Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee fans might not see Charles Barkley's comments as positive; however, the 11-time All-Star wants to see Antetokounmpo grow and become a mature basketball player on the court. After Barkley shared his thoughts on the star forward and the team, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne contributed to the conversation:

"I think what Charles is talking about is the way he played with Lillard. It's not just he needs to get better at shooting the three... It's about elevating [Giannis] and Damian Lillard to be that superstar duo that [the Bucks] traded for," Shelburne said.

Fans may not get tired of how Antetokounmpo attacks the basket each game, but they'd like to see his skills develop. Additionally, now that Lillard has joined the team, having a different approach to the game could turn things around for Milwaukee.
