"I'm playing in Game 8" - LeBron James gives hilarious response to Kevin Hart when asked about playing in NBA Finals on Wednesday
Amid LA Lakers superstar forward LeBron James' offseason, actor and comedian Kevin Hart jokingly asked him when he will make his 2024 NBA Finals debut. Hart's jest sparked a humorous back-and-forth exchange, culminating with a witty response from the four-time champion.
During a Monday livestream with streamer Kai Cenat and comedian Druski, Hart FaceTimed James, his longtime friend. After a comical introduction, involving James seemingly greeting them with the N-word, Hart asked the 20-time All-star "what time" he was "playing on Wednesday."
Wednesday marks Game 3 of the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks' finals matchup. Meanwhile, the Lakers have been off since Game 5 of their 4-1 first-round playoff series defeat against the Denver Nuggets on April 29.
Nonetheless, James played along, noting that he was still waiting for a scheduling update.
"They haven't sent me the schedule yet. I'mma let you know," James said.
Hart sarcastically continued expressing excitement about seeing James play in his 11th finals series.
"Well, I've got it covered. You know I'mma come f**k with you," Hart said. "It's the finals, baby. I've got to see you get down."
Druski later questioned if James was actually in the finals, to which Hart concurred, referencing the 39-year-old's extensive playoff resume.
"He's LeBron James. Of course, he's in the finals," Hart said.
However, James promptly added that he wouldn't be available until Game 8 of the series.
"Of course, I'm playing in Game 8," James said.
As NBA fans know well, the league's postseason series feature a maximum of seven games. So, it looks like Hart will have to keep waiting to see his close friend pursue his fifth championship.

While LeBron James isn't participating in this year's finals, he appears as motivated as ever. On Monday, James took to X/Twitter to respond to @CuffsTheLegend's tweet calling out naysayers questioning his dedication to winning ahead of his record-tying 22nd season.
"People saying LeBron doesn’t wanna win anymore have no idea what they’re talking about, LOL," @CuffsTheLegend said.
Do they ever know what they’re talking about?!" James responded.
Despite being the NBA's oldest player, James continues to perform at an elite level, receiving his record-extending 20th All-NBA selection this season.
He is expected to decline his $51.4 million player option for next season to become a free agent this summer. Given his age, his upcoming contract could mark the last of his illustrious career. So, James will likely ensure whichever team he signs with gives him a legitimate chance to challenge for another title before his retirement.
