“I’m sick of yall sometimes”: Donovan Mitchell calls out media for spreading misinformation
Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell has been in the rumor mill in the wake of the Cleveland Cavaliers' semifinal loss to the Boston Celtics. With reports indicating that Mitchell and the Cavaliers could part ways, rumors have been circulating regarding the young star. From the sounds of things, not all of them are true.
On Thursday, a report from Bleacher Report indicated that Mitchell had grown frustrated with the lack of maturity among some of the Cavaliers' players. Immediately, it sparked widespread discussions regarding his fit with the team, given the reports that if Mitchell stays in Cleveland, Darius Garland could be out.
According to Donovan Mitchell himself, not only is the rumor false, but he's beginning to grow sick of the misinformation being attached to his name. In a post on social media, he fired back at Bleacher Report and media members who have been spreading misinformation over the past few weeks, writing:
"Yeah aight I’m sick of yall sometimes!"
Given that Donovan Mitchell has now made it clear that the latest news regarding his alleged frustration with the team’s lack of maturity, the NBA community is now on high alert. From reports that he could be traded this offseason, to the aforementioned reports indicating that if Mitchell stays, Darius Garland goes, it’s unclear what to believe.
As we approach the offseason and await a slew of offseason moves that will reshape the league, let’s take a look at the various rumors that have been circulating regarding Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Looking at the rumors surrounding Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers as we head into the offseason
As previously mentioned, there are several rumors circling regarding Donovan Mitchell’s future with the Cavaliers, as well as the future of other key pieces. In addition to the previously mentioned report that if Donovan Mitchell resigns with the Cavs then Darius Garland could be on the way out, reports have also indicated that coach JB Bickerstaff could be on the way out.
According to longtime NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavaliers are going to take their time before deciding on Bickerstaff’s future. With that decision now pushed down the road, the team will look to improve through the draft while also navigating Donovan Mitchell’s offseason decision.
A wide range of reports have indicated a slew of possibilities for Mitchell, with some saying that he will sign an extension with the team, and others saying he could wind up on the trade block. Should he wind up getting traded, Brian Windhorst has made it clear that the LA Lakers and Brooklyn Nets both have trade packages already assembled.
Of course, at the same time, reports have also indicated that the Miami Heat could get in on the Donovan Mitchell sweepstakes after their disappointing postseason. Given an injury to Jimmy Butler, and Pat Riley’s indication that Tyler Herro has been fragile, the team could look to shake things up.
Last, but certainly not least, the previously mentioned reports regarding Darius Garland have remained on the radar of NBA fans. While it’s unclear whether or not those rumors are in fact true, we’ll find out soon in the weeks following the NBA Finals.
