"I’m not as talented as Steph; I’m not as talented as KD"- Giannis Antetokounmpo reveals what sets him apart from other NBA superstars

In a recent interview with the Athletic, Giannis Antetokounmpo claimed that he has never been as talented as the likes of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Stephen Curry has won two MVP awards and four NBA titles and is widely regarded as the greatest shooter of all time. He is also easily the greatest ever Golden State Warriors player, and has shown a tremendous level of loyalty that is not often seen in the NBA.

Kevin Durant, despite a number of big moves, is also one of the finest scorers the NBA has ever seen. Alongside Curry, Durant won two NBA titles and will be looking to add to his tally this year with the Phoenix Suns.

The Athletic’s Sam Amick asked Giannis Antetokounmpo if he had any physical keepsakes to remind him of his championship success. The Bucks’ superstar said that he did, but that he wanted to be more artistic, like Stephen Curry:

"Of course. Everywhere. You know, I’ll be very, very honest with you. I have jerseys up in my basketball court (at his home) that I see, and I remember moments and sweat and hours of the game and work. I just have memories.
"I do have the MVP trophies (finals and two regular season) in my office next to each other. …But I want to create more art. I want to be able to — like, look at Steph today."

Giannis Antetokounmpo continued, saying that fear and desperation drives him onwards:

“I feel like sometimes looking at (accomplishments from the past) stops you from going out there and chasing and being desperate. Why I’m here is because I’m desperate. I’m not as talented as Steph. I’m not as talented as KD.
"I’m obsessed. I’m scared to lose what God has gave me and the life that I’ve provided for my kids and my brothers and for my mom, you know? I’m scared. So I f—— work as hard as I can, because I don’t want to lose this s—. And it’s not gonna stop until I’m out of this league."
So I’ve been covering this league for almost 20 years, and this exchange was definitely an all-timer when it comes to interview moments. Giannis, who remains one of one, describing the championship feeling that he wants again

Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to create art like Stephen Curry

There is little doubt that Giannis Antetokounmpo plays his basketball in a very different way to Stephen Curry. However, that does not mean he cannot be as effective. While Curry’s shooting gives him an unfair edge over his peers, Antetokounmpo’s defensive work holds him in a similar vein.

The "Greek Freak" is one of the most athletic players in the modern game. But as far as pure artistic potential is concerned, he doesn’t hold a candle to the Golden State Warriors’ legend.

“The man is always real. Like, Steph is 34,35 years old. This is art. This goes in the resume. This goes in the bank, and then its on to the next one, you know what I am saying? He created art today, (for) me.”

Antetokounmpo was speaking of a recent 36-point display that allowed the Warriors to snatch a win against the Milwaukee Bucks.
