"I'm weak" - LaMelo Ball amazed after 2K build has shades of both him and brother Lonzo

NBA star LaMelo Ball has been enjoying his NBA 2K25 extra early access ahead of the game's official launch on Sep. 6. Those who preordered were granted early access on Wednesday.

The Closed Creator Tip-Off on Tuesday saw several high-profile NBA stars and pop culture celebrities all receive extra early access. For example, NBA stars like LaMelo Ball, Kevin Durant, Jamal Murray, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander all joined in on the extra early access.

In a post on his Instagram story, Ball revealed that his MyPlayer build has shades of both him and his brother, Lonzo Ball. While it's unclear exactly what archetype Ball was going for, it's clear that he made a guard who resembles the playstyles of both him and his brother.

In addition, his build also has shades of two-time All-NBA Defensive Second Team standout Derek Harper, who was drafted 11th by the Dallas Mavericks in 1983. Ball took to his Instagram story to share a photo of the player comparison generated by NBA 2K.

"I'm weak," he wrote.

LaMelo Ball's stats in NBA 2k25 compared to years past

While LaMelo Ball has been working on NBA 2Builder, fans have been impatiently awaiting the opportunity to play as Ball's in-game avatar. As a larger-than-average guard, he is one of the top young players in the league.

Despite not having the strength of a post threat like Magic Johnson, Ball's combination of speed, strength, and size makes him one of the most versatile guards in the game.

According to 2kratings.com, Ball has 21 badges in NBA 2K25. Despite that, he doesn't have any Hall of Fame badges and has just two gold badges in Dimer and Touch Passer.

After being rated as an 86 overall when NBA 2K24 was released, Ball was upgraded to an 88 overall during the regular season. As we've seen in the past, players who do well throughout the season see their total ratings increase by 2K throughout the year.

Despite being bumped up to an 88 overall in NBA 2k24, Ball is rated as an 87 overall in NBA 2k25. Of course, given that his rating went up throughout the 2023–24 season, Ball could wind up being bumped up this year as well.
