The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out two assists and recorded one steal in 29:32 minutes.

For his phenomenal performance, Wembanyama was named in the tournament's All-Star Five team announced by FIBA. The French superstar was joined by LeBron James, Steph Curry, Dennis Schroder and Nikola Jokic.
Wembanyama humbled by the occasion
Even though France missed out on the gold medal, Victor Wembanyama was ecstatic by the team's achievement in front of the home crowd. Speaking on the moment, the 20-year-old said:
"We're going to enjoy the moment. It's great. I'm proud of my teammates. I'm proud of having done what we've done here in France in front of our fans. I'm gonna let it all soak in and realize what's going on."
The Spurs superstar's ability to make a game-changing impact on both ends of the floor is what makes him a unique talent. Wembanyama spoke about molding his game according to the team's requirements.
"I always try to help my team in whatever is needed and I'm ready to make any sacrifice," Wembanyama continued.
"Tonight was scoring. In the previous games, the defense was too focused on me. My teammates did a great job, you know, taking their responsibilities. Isaia (Cordinier), Guerschon (Yabusele), Mathias (Lessort), they were incredible for the whole elimination phase. This is what we thrive with," he added.
Wembanyama's season came to an end on Saturday and the 20-year-old will be seen in action when the 2024-25 NBA season tips off later this year.
