“I punk Giannis' brother, he ain't that tough” – Shaquille O’Neal asserts Giannis Antetokounmpo should destroy Montrezl Harrel in next game against Philadelphia Sixers
On the “Big Podcast with Shaq” host Shaquille O’Neal along with Spice Adams and Nischelle Turner talked about how the incident went down between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Montrezl Harrell after their most recent game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers.
Harrell prevented Giannis from practicing his free throws after the game in Philadelphia. This led to Antetokounmpo going to the other end of the floor and having an issue with the arena staff.
Shaq pointed out how he would have handled the situation if he was in place of Giannis.
O’Neal stated that great players have files and remember when they were mistreated. He stated that Giannis needs to make sure when the Bucks play the Sixers that the power forward needs to make them pay.
"Great people have files right there and when you piss them off we just put it in the file we just put it on file so Giannis every time he come back he should try to get 40." - Shaquille O'Neal
He added,
"Every time Montrezl is in the game, you should try to dunk on him and embarrass him, definitely extra motivation." - O'Neal
Shaq also felt that after the incident where Harrell had words not only for Giannis but his brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo, it was important to send him a message.
"Also you know the same thing for Montrez, 'I Punk Giannis' brother, he ain't that tough'. So I'm gonna be circling these games on the calendar." - O'Neal
When Shaquille O'Neal plays Angry
Shaquille O’Neal was a dominant player throughout his entire career. Being 7 feet tall and over 300 lbs, there wasn’t much opposing NBA teams could do to stop O’Neal. This was especially true when he was angry or had a point to prove.
One story O'Neal tells about him being angry is when he scored a career-high 61 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on his birthday. O’Neal had requested tickets for his birthday and the Clippers, who were the home team at the Staples Center for that game, charged him for the tickets. Shaq took offense to being charged for tickets in a building that his Lakers shared with the Clippers.
His Laker teammates were behind him and kept feeding him the ball. O’Neal said he wanted to go for 70 but coach Phil Jackson pulled him out with a few minutes left in the game. O'Neal's 61-point, 23-rebound performance remains one of the most dominant moments in NBA history.
