Steph Curry played a crucial role for Team USA in their run to an Olympic gold medal in Paris. In six games, Curry led the team in scoring, averaging 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Curry propelled Team USA over France in the Olympic final behind several clutch baskets in the waning minutes of the game.
In an appearance on CNBC's Squawk on the Street on Tuesday afternoon, Curry reminisced about his clutch late-game performance in the gold medal game.
"That last three minutes was storybook stuff," Curry said, commenting on his hot streak of three-pointers in the final three minutes of the game versus France. "It still really hasn't sunk in. I mean, winning a gold, we expected to do that. We knew it was going to be hard, but how it happened? I still watch some highlights."
The highlights Curry references in the clip are his four 3-pointers in the final three minutes of the game. Team USA led France 82-79 when Steph Curry hit his first three-pointer, putting the United States up 85-79.
Curry's second clutch three-pointer came less than a minute later, putting Team USA ahead 90-81. France responded with a clutch three-pointer of their own before Curry answered right back with his third three-pointer to give the United States a 93-84 lead.
France stayed persistent, cutting the lead to six with the score reading 93-87 in favor of Team USA. Looking to put the game away, Curry pulled up with yet another 3-point shot, putting the United States ahead 96-87 with 35 seconds left, securing the win.
Steph Curry hints at desire to own an NBA team following retirement
In the same interview with CNBC on Tuesday, Steph Curry expressed his interest in owning an NBA team following his retirement from the league.
"For me, that's definitely on the table," Curry stated. "I think I could do a pretty good job of helping sustain how great the NBA is right now and what it takes to run a championship organization."
Steph Curry is quite familiar with the process of winning an NBA championship, having four rings of his own in his time as a Golden State Warrior.
Curry isn't the only NBA player eyeing team ownership after retirement, as Curry's close friend LeBron James has also expressed immense interest in running an NBA team in Las Vegas after league expansion in the coming years.
The four-time NBA MVP still has plenty of basketball yet to play, as he signed a one-year, $62 million extension with the Warriors, keeping him in Golden State through the 2026-27 NBA season.
