"I am trying my best for you" - Dennis Schroder's wife Ellen Ziolo pens heartfelt reaction to Nets star's 'my wife is better than urs' post
Dennis Schroder paid tribute to his wife Ellen Ziola on Instagram, praising her for being the best. Ellen replied to her husband's post by sharing it on her stories and giving her own twist. The couple have known each other since they were teenagers but only began dating in 2017 and got married two years later.
In a post on his Instagram stories, Schroder shared a photo of her wife and captioned it:
"My wife is better than urs & I mean in every aspect."
Ziola also shared the compliment on her stories and put her own caption:
"I am trying my best for you."
The couple are spending their offseason in Germany, where they are both from. Dennis Schroder has been very busy since the regular season ended for the Brooklyn Nets. It's a well-deserved vacation for Schroder, who had a busy year last year after leading his country to their first World Cup Championship.
To stay fit this offseason, Schroder signed a professional contract to play football for German sixth-division side FC Germania Bleckenstedt. He played 63 minutes on his debut, but his team lost 5-1 against 1. SC Göttingen 05.
Schroder played football growing up in Braunschweig before giving it up to play basketball full-time. He turned professional in 2009 at the age of 16 and was drafted 17th overall by the Atlanta Hawks.
After five seasons in Atlanta, Dennis Schroder blossomed in OKC Thunder as a Sixth Man. However, he became a journeyman after the Thunder, playing for five teams in four seasons, including two stints with the LA Lakers.
Apart from playing football this offseason, Schroder also goes skateboarding on occasion. He also has an active YouTube channel with around 380,000 subscribers.
Dennis Schroder and wife have three children together
Dennis Schroder met his wife Ellen Ziolo when they were teenagers in Germany. They have three kids together – Dennis Jr., Imalia Aliyah and Awa.
Ziolp has been very supportive of her husband's career, which would have been tough considering the amount of times the family moved starting from the 2020-21 season.
The pandemic didn't help, but the couple remained stronger than ever. She and her kids were present in the Philippines when Schroder was named the FIBA World Cup MVP for leading Germany to the World Championship.
Before marrying Schroder, Ellen worked as a model for brands like Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Harper's Bazaar, Versace and Vogue. She's also a social media influencer with 171,000 followers on Instagram and around 46,800 subscribers on her YouTube channel.
