Giannis Antetokounmpo tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend and baby mama Mariah Riddlesprigger on September 1. Reports indicate that the wedding took place in Antetokounmpo's homeland, Greece. To celebrate this special occasion, sportswear giant Nike, which according to Forbes has a market cap of $120 billion, sent a special gift for their brand ambassador.
The Milwaukee Bucks star has been signed with Nike as a brand ambassador and signature athlete since 2013. He has a signature sneaker line with the brand and is one of its most notable NBA superstars. To mark his wedding, Nike released a new colorway for his signature sneaker line, the Nike Freak 6.
The new iteration is a wedding special edition with special messages all over the shoe. The sneaker boasts the classic design of the Nike Freak 6 but has a new sky blue color tone with splashes of violent and pink accents in different places. The tongue of the right shoe has a logo of two rings intertwining while the tongue of the second shoe bears Giannis and Mariah's name.
The sole of the pair follows the same sky blue color tone with a gradient finish that fades into pinkish and violet hues. The insole of the right sneaker bears the intertwining rings logo and the name of the couple, while the insole of the left shoe carries a customized message.
There has been no announcement from the brand on the availability of the limited edition sneakers to the public.
