In Photos: After sleepless night, Dwyane Wade treats himself to KFC and a $30 fan amid Olympics duties

Dwyane Wade has landed in Paris for the Olympics, but this time, not as a basketball player. The former Miami Heat player is embracing a new duty, the role of a commentator for NBC. The NBA legend posted a series of pictures on his social media from his first day in the capital city and it seemed busy.

On his Instagram, Wade posted a picture of himself behind the desk, where he was sitting with his fellow commentator Noah Eagle. According to his social media updates, Wade didn’t get any sleep due to his busy schedule. Dwyane Wade’s next stop was KFC in Lille, Paris. He posted a receipt of the order in his story and also shared a video of the street alongside the restaurant.

“Our first practice game in the books! Tomorrow we take on the challenge of calling France/Brazil and then Greece/Canada,” Wade captioned the story.

Perhaps the heat was too hot to handle for Wade. He made his next stop at a mall and bought a $30 Klindo fan. He was later seen sitting in front of the fan, taking a breather.

According to USA Today, NBC has selected Dwyane Wade for the Olympics. Wade and Eagle will be calling the Olympic games between Greece & Canada, and France & Brazil.

Molly Solomon, the executive producer of the media company, stated that Wade was selected because of his experience playing in international games. Moreover, his previous experience of working with TNT and his friendship with LeBron James' were also significant factors.

Dwyane Wade says he is “nervous” ahead of calling Olympics basketball games

Dwyane Wade is one of the greatest basketball players in the sport's history. He also has the experience of sitting as an NBA analyst at a time with the TNT. However, the NBA great has never called a game.

This will be the first time that Dwyane Wade will be calling a game, and that too on the biggest stage in the world. A bit of nervousness is natural because he is a rookie as a commentator.

“I think I’m going to be a little nervous, definitely. But ultimately, everyone keeps saying the same thing,” Wade told Today on July 4. “They keep telling me ‘just be myself’ and ‘I know the game of basketball.’

However, the former basketball player knows that he has the advantage of knowing different aspects of the game. He said that he knows the locker room talk and he can speak a player's as well as a coach's mind which will help him navigate the nervousness in the beginning.
