NBA superstar Damian Lillard surprised fans this week with an unexpected appearance at the Tank Davis vs. Frank Martin boxing match. Lillard, known for his clutch shots and 3-point shooting on the court, seemed to be enjoying a night off in the off-season. He caught the big fight alongside a rising star from a completely different combat sport - featherweight boxer Bruce Carrington.

Photos captured the camaraderie between the two athletes. Lillard, sporting a black pant with white sneakers and a white shirt, stood with the young featherweight champ Carrington, who was decked out in stylish chains, with a watch and loose street-style shirt and pant.

Lillard reposted the photo of them in his Instagram story, he added the caption:

This isn't the first time Lillard has shown his love for the sweet science. The Milwaukee point guard has been spotted ringside for major fights before, even seen throwing the occasional boxing jab and shadowboxing in his videos and also in his pre-game warmup routine.

On social media, fans are buzzing about the potential for a crossover collaboration between the two athletes.

The Milwaukee Bucks' early elimination in the second round by the Indiana Pacers has given Damian Lillard a chance to embrace life beyond basketball.

A passionate boxing enthusiast, the eight-time NBA All-Star recently attended the bout between Bruce Carrington and Brayan De Garcia at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Carrington vs De Garcia was the undercard fight to the main event of Xander Zayas vs Patrick Texeira on Tuesday, June 8. Carrington sealed the win in the eighth round when he trapped De Garcia against the ropes and unloaded a series of body and head shots for a knockout victory.

Damian Lillard showed his appreciation for the 27-year-old boxer from Brooklyn, 'Shu Shu', by likening his skills to those of three-weight division champion Terence Crawford.

"Shu Shu Carrington giving Bud Crawford vibes mane," wrote by Lillard on X.

The win increased Carrington's unbeaten record to 12-0. Meanwhile, Brayan De Garcia (1-1), who replaced Jose Enrique Vivas who was unable to travel due to visa difficulties, dropped his second fight in a row after coming in with only three days' notice.

The defeat sees De Garcia, who was bested by Edward Velasquez in July 2023, fall to 23-4-1.
